Technology in the Classroom

Classroom

2010 marked the beginning of the i21 classroom which was funded from the passage of Proposition S. Each of our 3rd grade classrooms was equipped with an interactive whiteboard, audio/visual cabinet, printer, wireless voice amplification system, DVD player, teacher presentation system and a teacher tablet PC. In April of 2010 each 3rd grade student began to use net book computers. Students in grades 3-5 use net book computers for daily learning activities across the curriculum while at school. An important component of the i21 classroom is the student response system. Each student net book computer includes software allowing students to respond electronically in real time to teacher questions, quizzes or discussions. During the 2010-2011 school year the 4th grade and special education classrooms were equipped with this technology. Eventually, all our classrooms will have the i21 technology.
